I’ve been a co-administrator for a dedicated server on the OVH network for some time now, originally intended as a Minecraft server but has been left idle lately. We don’t really have anything to do with it now, so I figured I’d put it to use.
I do have some plans for the server though they’re mostly long-term. Maybe renting out LXC containers or game servers. We have a brand all setup with logos and everything but as a company we don’t yet have an objective, and such things will require writing some level of custom software anyway. Regardless, I’ll be moving this site to a WordPress install located on the server to give it something to do until then. This will also allow me to setup any web apps and/or host other things I might be interested in doing later on. I don’t have any particular plans for that, but it’s nice to know I have that option of hosting services on CosmicDan.com
Speaking of the domain, the CosmicDan.com site will just point to the new install as soon as I flick the switch – any readers out there won’t have to do anything. There might be an issue with the feedly feed showing duplicates for old articles but that’s not a big deal. WordPress has a Blogger import function that looks decent enough so that’s all good. At this point all I really need to do is obsess over the choice of theme and design ?
